Resolutions for '11

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

Okay, these are a little late, but I finally came up with a list of resolutions I think I can keep.

1. Eat at Punch at least once a week, but no more than three times a week.
2. Get back into a good WoW regimen. Six toons won't hit 85 by themselves.
3. Spend at least four hours every week staring at my WIPs' notes.
4. Find time to eat more chicken fingers.
5. Enjoy Taco Bell as often as the law allows.
6. Whenever there is some free time, sit at the computer and refresh Twitter, Facebook, and Goodreads.
7. Remember that an Amazon ranking is more important than a cholesterol level.
8. Watch more Deep Space Nine, and maybe get started on Voyager, too.
9. Lose one sock per dryer load.
10. Sometimes, at four in the morning, lie awake. Stare at the cracked ceiling. Explore the darkest depths of the soul.
11. Continue putting off that trip to the dentist.

I couldn't do it without the loving support of my beautiful wife.
My only resolution is to babysit often enough that my beloved son-in-law can keep all of his resolutions.

Look at the wonderful support I get from my family! So touching.
Deep Space Nine was a great show and had internal consistency, whatever you want to call it. The characters weren't as fun as STTNG, especially missing Data (but the lead guy was almost as good as Picard, who was phenomenal). But, Voyager was terrible - really didn't have that consistency at all - here they are in some incredibly distant part of the galaxy that even warp drive can't bring them home from, and they run into John Wayne, PeeWee Herman, and all sorts of other guys speaking English. Voyager is important to me for a few reasons, but mostly because it's the only ST series I watched while it was actually on the air. TNG I enjoyed during marathons on Spike and whatever it was called before it was Spike. And DS9 I've been renting from Netflix. But Voyager I watched "live," such as it is. Also, I always sympathized with Tom Paris in his relationship with B'Elanna.

i wonder if your taco bell resolution still stands, now that it's discovered that the meat, well, isn't. i guess that's not so surprising though, is it?

It certainly stands! For two reasons:

1) I almost always get beans instead of beef or chicken in whichever scrumptious menu item I happen to order. They're very accommodating in that respect!

2) Taco Bell responded to that suit. It's a load of malarkey, apparently. The beef is beef. http://www.tacobell.com/company/newsreleasearticl...

By the way, I loved that lighting fixture in the main room at the SCBWI conference too. But it made me want butterscotch candies so bad!
1. dude, no way. after watching that video, i'm more convinced than ever that that's not real beef.

2. next time you're in Buffalo, NY (seeing as it's such a hot spot i'm sure you're there quite often) try Mighty Taco, you'll never go back to Taco Bell again. and you're in luck. they now ship the Super Mighty.

1. Ye of little faith in our Taco Overlords.

2. I've been to Buffalo! Once. Like, sixteen years ago.
